Hurray!!!!! Okay, I want to do a best dead thing picture. I bet Darcy will go for this b/c I remember him joking about making a coffee table book about dead things he has seen!

I will find a prize from Faro for it.

Yes! Best dead thing contest, definitely. I knew I should have gotten a picture of me riding that stuffed baby muskox up in Resolute. Darn!

Most interesting parcel, as in where it came from and why.

Here is an example.

A few years ago (1993) when David and I left for our "around the world trip in a year", I left a rough itinerary for my Mother to be able to send mail to us (if she wished)at the various poste restantes. Remeber this was early days and no email. Heck they turned the faxes off at nite in Delhi to save power.

And she did mail us letters and things. One thing was a parcel that she mailed to us in what was then known as Madras, India. I never received it . Although I did know a parcel had been there for me as the clerk at poste restante remembered me from when I had been in a month earlier (before our journey to southern and western India). He asked why did I come late for my parcel! They only keep them for 30 days and he had just sent it back. To Nova Scotia.

I forgot about that parcel.
We continued on our journeys and after some 10 more months arrived in Canada. In Nova Scotia. No mention was made of the parcel by my Mother.

About 2 months later a (very bedraggled, sewn in canvas, secured with black electrical tape with all the pasted on paper labels they used in India in that time) parcel arrived. It was the parcel from India, sent back to my Mother in Nova Scotia(sea post is very slow) and then she mailed it to us in British Columbia.

What was in the parcel you ask? Underwear for both of us. Being a frugal Bluenoser she knew we might need some new undies on a year long trip. Where was the said underwear made?

India.

What about odd sights or objects from the north and can one identify them or their uses.

What about baby pictues, as in "you must have been a beautiful baby". Baby pictures of the now-dwelling-in-the-north entrants and the voters have to match/guess who it is.
